Library Resources for Staff

your subject librarian

There is a specialist Subject Librarian assigned to each School of study at UEL.

They can be invited into your lecture or seminar to teach students the information skills to find books, articles and other resources for their assignments.  Additionally, they can also demonstrate UEL's new subscription to AI research software, Keenious.

Please see below for details of who to contact for your School and links to the specialist resources page for each subject area.

Library Skills and Student InductionsThe Subject Librarians are available to do inductions to library services for your students, as well as more in-depth sessions on searching for books and using the specialist databases to find journal articles, company information and economic data.

To book your subject librarian, please email them directly with day/time and venue.  It can also be helpful to provide some details of the assessment topics so that the database demonstrations can be tailored to that module.

Ordering Books and ResourcesIf you would like to order books for your modules to be placed in the Library, please let your subject librarian know the details (as well as the module code and number of students) and they will investigate availability for you.

It should be noted that as per our collections policy, e-books will be given priority to make our resources as accessible as possible to all students.

Unfortunately, we cannot obtain inspection copies from the publisher on your behalf, or buy you a personal copy of a book, that is something you will need to arrange for yourself.

If you would like us to consider purchasing access to a new database or journal, please complete this online form and we will investigate subscription packages via our agent.
