Subject support guide for psychology and counselling.

Referencing Resources

The following resources can help with both the latest edition of APA and Harvard (Cite Them Right). The following list includes Referencing Guides, Useful Links, Books and Reference Management Software.

IMPORTANT: Check with your tutors to find out which style of referencing you are expected to use. Most courses in the School of Psychology use APA style, but a small number use Harvard style referencing. If you are required to use Harvard style, then it is highly recommended to use the University's official guide to Harvard: Cite Them Right.

If you are a postgraduate student thinking of using reference management software, we provide support for both Zotero and Mendeley. Below are quick guides for getting started with each. If you are using Zotero and are having some technical issues, please direct them to the Zotero Forums which are very active and supportive.
