Information on how the Library supports accessibility and inclusivity.

Assistive Technology Rooms

Dedicated Assistive Technology PCs are available at Docklands and Stratford Libraries’ Assistive Technology Rooms (ATR) with a range of assistive software. 

Access to the Assistive Technology Rooms is restricted and on referral from the Disability and Dyslexia Team (DDT). 

Assistive Technology Room: Stratford

Directions:

The Assistive Technology Room is on the ground floor:

  • Go through the entrance gates and turn left
  • Go to the end of the room
  • The assistive technology room is on the left
  • You will need to swipe your ID card to enter

Assistive Technology Room: Docklands

Furniture and equipment:

  • 11 height adjustable tables
  • 16 chairs with lumbar supports and memory foam seats
  • 8 PCs with assistive software

Directions:

The Assistive Technology Room is on the second floor

  • Go through the entrance gates to the lift or stairs
  • Take the lift or stairs to the second floor
    • Walk straight ahead when exiting the lift, or
    • Turn right at the top of the stairs
  • Turn right after the first row of books
  • Walk straight ahead (toward the end of the building above library entrance)
  • You will need to swipe your ID card to enter

Terms and conditions

Access is only available to UEL students with access permission and must be agreed with the Disability and Dyslexia Team.

External visitors without ID cards are not permitted – your non-medical helpers and support workers will be allowed in with you.

Leave the space neat and tidy for the next users.

Do not leave your belongings unattended.

The rooms are not private and should not be used for private or confidential meetings.

Be considerate of other users and keep noise to a minimum.
