There are a range of free databases, repositories and websites that exist to find e-books and e-journals that partner students and staff can access  without the need to sign in with an institutional log in.

  • AJOL (African Journals Online)                                                                                                                                                                                     AJOL is a globally recognised  and trusted Non Profit platform for African journals.
  • CORE

    Search engine for finding open access research papers on a variety of subjects.

  • DataCite

    A search engine for research outputs, including datasets and other unpublished works like working papers deposited on the platform.

  • EThOS

    Provides a national aggregated record of all doctoral theses awarded by UK Higher Education institutions, and free access to the full text of as many theses as possible.

  • Europe PMC

    Provides comprehensive access to life sciences literature, indexing over 40 million publications, preprints and other documents.

  • OpenDOAR

    Enables you to search the contents of repositories for freely available academic research information.

  • SciELO                                                                                                                                                                                                                    SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) is an open access, web-based library with a publishing model aiming to index, preserve, improve, and give high visibility to a collection of peer reviewed journals published independently by scientific societies.

  • SocARXIV

    An open archive of the social sciences and law, providing a platform for academics to upload working papers, preprints, and published papers, with the option to link data and code.

  • UEL Research Repository

    UEL's own repository, containing research papers and theses from UEL academics.
